FAQ
1. What does Mazzy Star mean?
I don't think it means anything special. It's a band name.
In an interview, David said that he wanted to have a band with "Mazzy" in the name, and Hope wanted it to have '"Star".
In a radio show Hope said that they were just trying to give themselves sort of a western name. David said they thought
Mazzy Star had sort of a northern feel.

4. Mazzy Star on tour?
Mazzy Star might be touring again in 2012.
5. The songs "Wild Horses" and "Sweet Jane"
There are always many questions about these songs. "Why can't I find them on any of the albums or singles?" etc. The answer is that these songs have never been recorded by Mazzy Star. The songs that people think is performed by Mazzy Star is in fact covers by other bands.
"Wild Horses" is covered by a band called "The Sundays". It's on their album "Blind". It's not clear who deserves the original writing credit for "Wild Horses". Gram Parsons (The Byrds, the Flying Burrito Brothers) and Keith Richards (Rolling Stones) hung out in L.A. and France, each drawing from the other. Richards let Gram take "Wild Horses" back to L.A., where it was recorded and released by the Flying Burrito Brothers before the Stones put it on their landmark Sticky Fingers album.
The song "Sweet Jane" is originally written by Lou Reed in The Velvet Underground. The cover people wrongly take for Mazzy Star is done by the band "Cowboy Junkies" and can be found on their album "The Trinity Session". It's also on the soundtrack to "Natural Born Killers".
